Where we work

The organization is based in the western region of Kenya and is currently working in the following counties:

Kenya-Counties-map11Kakamega:The head office of WADADIA is based in Mumias town of Kakamega county. The organization currently implements the following programs in the county:

  • HCBC
  • PMTCT
  • Peer education targeting MARPS
  • Obstetric fistula reintegration program

Bungoma County

WADADIA has a field office in Mt. Elgon sub county of Bungoma county. The office serves  most of Bungoma North and Sirisia sub counties. WADADIA implements the following programs in this regions.

  • peer education targeting out of school youth.
  • obstetric fistula prevention
  • Obstetric fistula community outreaches aimed at increasing access to care and treatment. ( Action On Fistula)
  • Obstetric fistula reintegration.

Busia county: WADADIA implements the following programs in Busia county

  • obstetric fistula care and treatment
  • Obstetric fistula reintegration

Siaya County: WADADIA implements the Action on Fistula project in Siaya county. this involves

  • community outreaches to increase access to care and treatment.
  • post repair follow up for obstetric fistula survivors

West Pokot county: This is one of the counties in which wadadia implements the Action on Fistula project from June 2014. The project involves the following activities:

  • community outreaches to increase access to care and treatment.
  • post repair follow up for obstetric fistula survivors

Baringo county: WADADIA started working in Baringo county in May 2015. The main project being carried out in the county is the Action on Fistula project.

  • obstetric fistula outreaches
  • reintegration of obstetric fistula survivors
  • youth empowerment through skills training

Elgeyo Marakwet county: WADADIA started working in Elgeyo Marakwet in May 2015. The main project being carried out in the county is the Action on Fistula project.

  • obstetric fistula outreaches
  • reintegration of obstetric fistula survivors

Nakuru, Bomet, Kericho, Isiolo, and Marsabit counties

Though wadadia has no field office in this counties, it currently partners with the Fistula Foundation to identify and refer fistula clients in this region. The strategy involves using community mobilizers based in the respective counties, empowering them through training and other capacity building. the community mobilizers then receive supportive supervision from WADADIA.  The initiative was started in DEC 2015.
